Intelligent 3D activity sensor for active and self-determined life in one's own home
In the process of demographic change, the relevance of supporting people from different age groups and educational backgrounds with their lives in their home environment steadily increases. Additionally, new home technology and multimedia components and systems are being developed, whose operation is relatively complex and overwhelming for many potential users. In order to meet this challenge, a human-machine interface is required, which takes behavior of the users into account, such as the localization and movement in the room, but does not invade their privacy through total visual monitoring. In preceding projects, a basic technology has already been developed for the two-dimensional feature-based presence sensor, which takes the "privacy by design" aspect into consideration but does not yet provide three-dimensional information on the user's position in the room.
